Pop star Alicia Keys received praise for her make-up-free look at the MTV Video Music Awards this week - as well as a bunch of criticism.
The 'No One' singer smiled for the many cameras at the awards ceremony without any foundation, eyeliner or concealer on.
While she was praised on social media for the "empowering" and "brave" move by many, she was also described as looking "worn out" and a "f***ing mess".
Others described the #nomakeup movement as being "fake", "annoying" and "imaginary".
Keys must have read some of the comments and took to Twitter to explain she isn't anti-make-up.
Her husband Swizz Beatz has also spoken out over the controversy with his own Instagram video.
"Somebody is sitting at home getting mad, because somebody [else] didn't wear make-up on their face," says Beatz.
"You must be mad at a lot of shit. You better look in that mirror and get that ass fixed. If you're getting mad because someone didn't put make-up on their face, as their decision, you got a lot of work to do in life.
"She didn't tell ya'll 'don't wear no make-up'. She just said that she's not vibing with the make-up always."
