Kate Upton recalls her good looks being "inconvenient" while performing farm chores.
The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model-turned-actress grew up in Melbourne, Florida, where she worked the land with her family.
Although she's now known the world over for her beauty, Kate acknowledges being pretty didn't help her at all while breaking her back at the Upton farm as a girl.
"It made me very goal-oriented and focused. I'm not opposed to a hard day's work for a good outcome," she revealed in the September issue of Elle UK.
"Living on a farm, beauty doesn't get you anywhere. Because I was pretty didn't mean I could convince my sister to do my chores. It was kind of inconvenient to be pretty, growing up."
Kate's curvy figure is singular in comparison with some other supermodels.
The star admits her frame caused a stink with a lot of agents before she made it big.
"Agents have put me under pressure to lose weight in the past. I would go on set and clients loved me," she shared.
"And then I would go into an agency and feel like crap about myself. They would say: 'Just lose five more [pounds]!' But I couldn't give a crap. I still don't. To me, agents don't necessarily understand the realities of the industry; they're sitting behind a desk. I never listen. I'm fine."
Kate recently appeared on the big screen with co-stars Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Nicki Minaj in rom-com The Other Woman. The feature film was released in April.
