An hour long mid-morning show is due to debut on TV3 from April 11.
The Café will be hosted by Mike Puru (The Bachelor) and Mel Homer (My Dream Room: Kids Edition) and will showcase "advice, life-hacks and information across a wide range of topics, including food, finance, travel, celebrity, parenting, fashion, beauty, DIY, home décor and more", as well as features guests and experts.
The show will air live in front of a studio audience.
"Fronting a major daily show like this is a dream come true for me as a broadcaster," says Puru. "I can't wait to be talking to New Zealand every morning again. I'm really looking forward to working with Mel too, she's an absolute professional and great fun."
"I've known Mike for ages, so it's great that we'll get to work together on The Café,” says Homer. "Providing an upbeat hour of fun and interesting TV each day really is a dream job!"
The two executive producers, Holly Pollock and Alex Breingan, have an extensive background in TV and radio, both in New Zealand and the UK.
"We just couldn't believe New Zealand was being left without a local morning show when we knew there was an audience and advertisers there. We went about putting one together that was fresh, fun, and highly relevant," says Breingan.
Pollock said Kiwis "have a great café culture. We want the show to feel as if viewers are at their favourite café, catching up with a bunch of friends".
The Café will be self-funded by sponsors and clients who will be integrated into the show.
