Police in Orlando, Florida have identified the man who fatally shot singer Christina Grimmie.
Kevin James Loibl, 27, killed the 22-year-old star of The Voice after travelling in from another city in Florida, police say.
Loibl was tackled by Grimmie's brother before fatally shooting himself. The attack happened while the singer was signing autographs for fans following a live performance.
"[Loibl] did have two hand guns, additional magazines and a hunting knife," a police spokesperson told media.
"We believe he came here to commit this crime."
Grimmie was rushed to a hospital following the shooting, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities are now searching Loibl's mobile phone, computer and residence to find out more about what led to the killing.
Grimmie finished third during season six of NBC's The Voice, but before her television debut was a YouTube sensation.
She is now being remembered with an outpouring of condolences on social media.
Her celebrity coach on the show Adam Levine said in a statement: "Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon."
