Robin Thicke believes some people just "don't get" 'Blurred Lines'.
The singer is behind the hit single, which features Pharrell Williams and T.I. and went to number one around the world.
It features sexually suggestive lyrics and Robin released an accompanying video, which showed topless girls dancing provocatively around the male singers.
An advert featuring the song and models from the promo was recently banned from daytime TV in the UK and Robin thinks he knows why.
"I don't think people got it out here [in the UK] in those positions of power," he told Newsbeat. "I think the kids get it... I just have to deal with that."
Robin also hit headlines when he took to the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards and let Miley Cyrus perform "twerking" dance moves on him.
He's happily married to actress Paula Patton and insists lyrics such as "she's a good girl" and "I know you want it" in Blurred Lines refer to his partner.
"I wrote it ['Blurred Lines'] about my wife," he insisted.
"She's my good girl. And I know she wants it because we've been together for 20 years."
It's been claimed the lyrics reference "non-consensual sex" and that the accompanying video is derogatory to women.
However, 'Blurred Lines' is the biggest-selling single of the year so far, taking the place of Daft Punk's Get Lucky.
Things keep looking up for Robin, who will be performing at the Grammy nominations concert in December.
"Excited to share that I'll be performing on the #GRAMMYnoms Concert, on 12/6. It's going to be a night to remember! @CBSTweet @TheGRAMMYs (sic)," he wrote on Twitter.
