Taika Waititi's new Kiwi film Hunt for the Wilderpeople has just hit cinemas, but now the director is turning his attentions to his next project -- and it's kind of a big deal.
Waititi is the director of Marvel's next big blockbuster instalment of Thor -- becoming by far the biggest film the 40-year-old Wellingtonian has ever worked on, let alone directed.
Thor: Ragnarok is set for release late next year, with Chris Hemsworth back in the title role, and with the addition of Cate Blanchett to the Marvel Universe.
Waititi's lips are sealed on the full details of the script and the project, but he confessed to Kate Rodger that directing a huge superhero movie has always been on his bucket list.
