After months of speculation, the star of TV3’s The Bachelor can finally be revealed as Arthur (Art) Green.
The 26-year-old made his debut on the reality TV series tonight, where he met his 21 potential female suitors for the first time.
After growing up on a farm in Martinborough, Art later spent time in Wellington, then Christchurch before studying Sport Science at university in Dunedin.
Following his studies, Art managed a gym in remote Western Australia. It was his departure from New Zealand that resulted in the amicable ending of the five-year relationship he had been in since the age of 18.
Having developed an interest in the paleo diet while working abroad, Art now part-owns Clean Paleo Ltd with two other friends.
Art says he has been so busy with his business he hasn’t had time to find love – but is now ready to change that.
Art, who says he is very close to his family and loves spending time with his six sisters, lists his hobbies as surfing, playing tennis, visiting northern beaches and farmers’ markets.
Friends describe him as fun, funny and active. He doesn’t like to sit still, is happy-go-lucky, positive, chilled and ready to find love.
He describes his ideal woman as someone who is funny, active and intellectual with great eyes. And, he doesn’t mind if she’s smarter than him – but ideally she’d have a good job with her own ambition and drive.
Art doesn’t want a high-maintenance girlfriend, but he doesn’t mind a “bit of sass”.
