Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless, who famously played Xena for six years, wants to bring the Warrior Princess back.
The Ash vs. Evil Dead star says she has been pitching the idea of a Xena: Warrior Princess television movie for a while.
"The fans really do want that, and I've met some people who've crowdfunded some things, and I'm just like, 'Why don't we just do that?'" Lawless tells DenOfGeek.com.
But before Xena and her sidekick Gabrielle have a chance to return to the screen, there is one thing that still needs to be cleared up.
"It's still about who owns the rights to Xena. But it would still be cool to do it again with Renée [O'Connor], me, Ted [Raimi], and Bruce. It'd be a fun little gig, but what that is I don't really know," says Lawless.
Another obstacle that doesn't seem to phase the 47-year-old actress is how her character's story line ended in the series finale in 2001.
"So what? Technicality!" Lawless laughed.
"No one really dies! Screw her head back on, it's a bit wonky, and she's got a really bad attitude since she's been in a box for 20 years, so they've got to get Xena's mojo back, and go and save the world somehow."
Fans don't have to wait for a potential Xena return to see Lawless back in action. In October she will be back on the small screen in Ash vs. Evil Dead alongside Bruce Campbell.
