X-Men: First Class star Lucas Till is bringing MacGyver back to life in a new series reboot.
The 25-year-old, who portrayed mutant superhero Alex Summers, aka Havok, in the X-Men movie, has been cast as the resourceful and ingenious secret agent Angus MacGyver, taking over the role made famous by Richard Dean Anderson in the original 1980s action show.
The TV revamp will also feature former CSI: Crime Scene Investigation star George Eads and actor Joshua Boone, reports TheWrap.com.
Henry Winkler is serving as an executive producer on the updated version of his hit adventure series, which originally ran for seven seasons until 1992.
The Happy Days icon recently teamed with Furious 7 filmmaker James Wan to develop the programme, which will focus on a young MacGyver as he is recruited for a secret organisation.
Tut series director David Von Ancken will take charge of the pilot for US network CBS.
