Marvel's latest superhero extravaganza has just burst onto the big screen with their craziest and most mind-bending adventure yet.
Playing Doctor Strange is Benedict Cumberbatch who has a fan base so rabid and prolific they call themselves 'Cumberbitches'.
He fit the Marvel superhero's cape so perfectly, super-producer Kevin Feige stalled production on the film until Mr Cumberbatch was available. It was the first time he has moved a schedule to accommodate an actor.
Tilda Swinton plays The Ancient One, a role specifically written for her. And the actress jumped at the opportunity to play Marvel dress-ups.
There's plenty of green screen and the result is a visual spectacle made from the kind of CGI magic which is constantly evolving.
"The kind of canvas Marvel offers; acrobatics, stunts and fights, green screen wizardry -- that alone as an acting exercise was a wonderful role to play," says Mr Cumberbatch.
Mr Cumberbatch not only steps up to the part, but he grabs it by the throat and doesn't let go, so could this be the birth of another action hero?
