Just over a year after his death, David Bowie won his first ever Grammy for his music.
The 'Life on Mars' hitmaker won the major award of Best Rock Song, beating fellow nominees Metallica, Radiohead, Twenty One Pilots and Highly Suspect.
Bowie also won Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), Best Recording Package and Best Alternative Album for Blackstar, and Best Rock Performance for the album's title track at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.
Before Blackstar, Bowie had only earned one Grammy in 1985, for Best Short-Form Video, as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. He received a total of 12 Grammy nominations throughout his career.
