Adele has stopped mid-performance during a tribute to the late singer George Michael at the 59th annual Grammy awards.
The singer was performing George Michael's 1996 song 'Fastlove' as a tribute to the artist who died in December 2016.
About 20 seconds into the performance she stopped singing and told the crowd "I'm sorry it's live TV, but I've got to start again".
"I'm sorry I f**ked up and I'm sorry for swearing but I've got to stop, I can't do it again like last year."
The reference to "last year" was Adele's performance at the 2016 Grammys, where technical difficulties interfered with her performance of 'All I Ask'.
As the tribute to Michael was halted this year, she told the crowd "I can't stuff this up for him".
Her apologies were met with applause and several audience members were on their feet to offer support.
On her second go, sound issues were resolved, and she received a standing ovation from the crowd.
