Selena Gomez is causing controversy with her new single before it has even been released.
The popstar's new song 'Bad Liar' is set for release this week, with the star teasing lyrics in mysterious photos posted to her Instagram page.
However followers are saying Gomez has taken things a step too far after she posted a sepia toned photo on Instagram post on Tuesday (local time), lying in bed with a yellow wristband that reads "RISK" and a bandaged forearm.
The photo was captioned '#BadLiar 5.18.'
She also made the photo her main Twitter display image.
The theme of self-harm or suicide in the image has shocked and offended some fans.
The star has already faced controversy for the Netflix show on which she's executive producer. 13 Reasons Why has been accused of glamourizing teen suicide and rape, therefore receiving an R18 classification.
