Sorry, Friends fans - a return to Central Perk might be perfection, but it seems the show is still on a break.

A viral social media post over the weekend shared more than 300,000 times suggested the hit comedy was coming back next year.

The post, made to Facebook by 'David Schwimer' claimed "all six cast members have signed on" for one more season.

It was hashtagged #Theonewheretheycomeback, echoing the show's regular episode title format.

But the Facebook page's incorrect spelling of the names of both star David Schwimmer and his character Ross Geller ('Ross Gheler') had many wondering: could this *be* any more of a hoax?

NBC, which aired the show for 10 seasons between 1994 and 2004, hasn't commented on the post. The 'David Schwimer' account had previously posted nothing.

Just last month Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay) said the cast was unlikely to ever reunite.

"It's been 13 years, 13 years of the same question and right now, or in the future, it's not going to happen. And every time I say that, I get yelled at," she told Heat magazine.

"What's it going to be about? Really, how is it going to work? This is what everybody is forgetting. They no longer hang out at the coffee house, they have all moved away. Chandler and Monica live upstate, Phoebe and Mike, probably the same."

She went on to say it's impossible to get all six main cast together for dinner, let alone a whole season of TV.

"It's six people - how easy it is for you to get six of your friends together?"
