Gerard Butler is known for changing his physique for his movie roles, but this new look might not be quite what you expect.
The actor, 47, and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Morgan Brown were papped on the beach together in Mexico. Online commenters have noticed Butler is sporting a little more ‘dad-bod’ than he has previously sported.
Butler, who is in the midst of filming thriller Keepers, has ditched the legendary six pack he gained for the role as warrior Spartan Leonidas for 300 in 2007.
The actor had to work out six-hours a day for seven months in the lead up to filming the action-packed flick, the Daily Mail reports.
He told GQ in 2016 that “right now I’m training five times a week. I do a lot of cardio but I’m starting to lift heavy because in my next movie I’m supposed to be beefy, a big undercover cop in LA covered in tattoos – so it’s not big and cut, it’s just big.”
The Scottish star plays a lighthouse keeper in thriller Keepers, so a finely cut physique is not needed.
However it seems Brown, who showed off her own taut bod in a small orange bikini, didn’t seem to have a problem with her boyfriend’s new look.
The Keepers is set for release later this year.
