While many big celebs go for Vegas blow-outs and club appearances on their birthdays, Selena Gomez celebrated her 25th over the weekend in more understated style.
The LA house party was heavily Instagrammed by Gomez and her friends, showing off balloons, cakes and décor based on her new songs.
It appears the party was a surprise to the 'Bad Liar' singer, with her assistant sharing insights on her Instagram story including a snap of a cake captioned: 'She doesn't know it's coming'.
Gomez posted several photos of the beautiful, intimate set up on social media, thanking "my people" for the surprise.
She also made sure to thank her fans for their support.
"Thank you for all of my bday love," Gomez wrote on Instagram.
"I couldn't be more blessed. A lot of you don't realise how much you mean to me. I. Love. You. [I] think 25 is going to be epic. xo."
Gomez's boyfriend, The Weeknd, couldn't be there on her big day as he was perforimg in Paris. But a friend of his told Hollywood Life they skyped that morning, and "he sent her an amazing bunch of flowers with a beautiful note.
"He's flying back today though, and he has some time off now, as his next performance isn't until August."
Gomez's new song 'Fetish' was released earlier this month.
