The visual effects work in Game of Thrones has rightfully been awarded for its high quality, but the latest episode appears to show a hilarious blooper.
Eagle-eyed fans quickly picked up on part of a battle scene that seems to show a wilding soldier fighting... thin air.

The sixth episode of Game of Thrones season seven, entitled 'Beyond the Wall', sees Jon Snow lead a small band of heroes into battle against the army of the dead.

Shortly after the wights cross a frozen lake to attack, there's a shot that shows Sandor "The Hound" Clegane, Tormund Giantsbane and Beric Dondarrion fighting.
Alongside them is an unnamed wildling warrior, thrashing his spear around furiously at what presumably was meant to be a zombie enemy that ended up somehow overlooked by the visual effects team.
The apparent blooper was brought up on a Reddit page, with one user suggesting the wildling was taking Littlefinger's advice to "fight every battle everywhere, always, in your mind".
