Former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters has hit back at critics of his overtly anti-Trump live shows, telling them "go see Katy Perry or watch the Kardashians".
The tour's stage features US President Donald Trump as an actual pig, wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood and nude - with a tiny penis.
Waters is taking the show to conservative-leaning 'red states' in North America, where the rocker says he sees about ten people walk out per night.
"I find it slightly surprising that anybody could have been listening to my songs for 50 years without understanding," Waters told CNN in an interview.
Asked what he'd say to fans who want escapism and not politics at their concerts, Waters replied, "Go see Katy Perry or watch the Kardashians. I don't care."
Waters 2010 - 2013 The Wall Live tour is the third highest-grossing tour ever, hauling in US$458.7 million (NZ$616 million at today's exchange rate).
He admits the explicitly political content has put off at least one major sponsor and cost him millions, but says he is comfortable with his decision to do it.
