MediaWorks radio star Tim Homer died suddenly over the weekend after reportedly collapsing at his family home.
The Sound and former More FM and Kiwi FM host was 43.
Homer, who had been assistant content director at The Sound for the past two years, is survived by his wife Corinna and their three children - 12-year-old George, 10-year-old Lulu, and three-year-old Nellie.
"We are devastated at the heartbreaking news of the sudden death of our long time colleague and friend Tim Homer," says Leon Wratt of MediaWorks Radio.
"Tim had worked with us for 12 years... and was regarded as an excellent broadcaster and friend to many across the whole industry. On behalf of everyone at MediaWorks, we extend our most heartfelt condolences to his wife Corinna and their family."
A Givealittle page has been set up to help the family "grieve and deal with Homer's sudden death".
"People have been asking how to be there and help for them, and this is the best way to help," the page states.
"Rather than flowers or wine (although I'm sure no one will object to wine), helping via this way will give Corinna and the kids time to grieve and heal without the additional stress of all the financial crap that comes with being an adult.
"Help with the funeral, pay bills, buy food & allow Corinna some breathing space."
Among those paying tribute to Homer online is Charlotte Ryan, former Paul Henry Show social media presenter.
Homer's cause of death has not been confirmed.
