Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) over a sexual assault that he allegedly carried out in 2013.
The LAPD joins the London Metropolitan Police and the New York Police Department, both of which have also launched criminal investigations into complaints about the former Miramax boss.

Weinstein is accused of sexually assaulting or harassing more than 30 women.
"The Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery Homicide Division has interviewed a potential sexual assault victim involving Harvey Weinstein which allegedly occurred in 2013," LAPD Officer Sal Ramirez told media.
"The case is under investigation. There is no more information at this time.
Deadline reports the alleged sexual assault was inflicted on an Italian model/actress at the Mr C Beverly Hills hotel.
Weinstein "unequivocally denies allegations of non-consensual sex", his representatives stated in response to the LAPD's announcement.
