Eminem has turned a portion of his own fanbase against him with the brutal freestyle cypher he released this week that sharply criticised US President Donald Trump.
It was delivered via a video shown at the BET Hip-Hop Awards and called the former reality TV star racist, hypocritical and cruel.

The 44-year-old musician screamed "we f**king hate Trump" in the clip, with a blunt message for any of his fans that support the Republican leader: 'F**k you'.
Many have taken his message onboard and responded on social media.
"Now that a washed up, wife-beating pill junkie claims to support the troops, yet actually supports disrespecting their sacrifices, it all makes sense," one commenter wrote.
"Take another handful of pills, Marshall, and wash them down with the crap absinthe you endorsed."
"Eminem said, 'We love our country and our military' in that freestyle. Who the f**k is 'we', asshole?" wrote another.
While many other fans, sports stars and members of the hip-hop community have praised Eminem's message, it has also been criticised by right-wing US media.
Conspiracy theory propagator InfoWars.com called the rapper a 'mainstream lyricist', 'leftist hip-hop artist' and 'a complete idiot' while covering the story, while extremist website Breitbart headlined its article 'Amid sex assault cover-up scandal, Hollywood turns to misogynist Eminem'.
Meanwhile, a 2004 video of Trump endorsing Eminem at a mock political rally is being circulated online.
"Of course I'm right. I'm always right," Trump says in the video.
"I know a winner when I see one. And Donald Trump is telling you, right now, Slim Shady is a winner. He's got brains. He's got guts. And he's got Donald Trump's vote. Ladies and gentlemen, our great candidate, Slim Shady!"
Trump himself is yet to respond to Eminem's verbal attack.
