Kevin Spacey cut from movie weeks out from premiere

In an unprecedented move for Hollywood, Kevin Spacey will be cut from a film and his scenes re-filmed just a month out from its release.

The disgraced A-lister had been cast as oil magnate J Paul Getty in Ridley Scott's upcoming thriller All the Money in the World.

The film, thought to have been completed, is now having all of Mr Spacey's scenes hastily re-shot to remove him entirely from its final cut.

The role of Getty has been filled by veteran Canadian actor Christopher Plummer.

The film was originally set to premiere at the American Film Institute Festival on November 16 but was pulled after its star was accused of multiple counts of sexual harassment and assault.

It is now set for release on December 22, giving the film's production team just over a month to re-shoot a significant portion of the scenes.

The news of Mr Spacey's replacement came just hours after former news anchor Heather Unruh said the actor sexually assaulted her teenage son in 2016.

Mr Spacey has seen his previously untarnished reputation and career of more than 20 years destroyed in the space of two weeks, after actor Anthony Rapp told Buzzfeed that Mr Spacey made a sexual advance toward him when he was just 14.

Mr Rapp's claim was followed by a whirlwind of other allegations against Mr Spacey, including that he had preyed on young male actors for most of his career.

The actor has been fired from Netflix's House of Cards in which he played the lead role, and an upcoming film about Gore Vidal starring Mr Spacey has been cancelled.
