Outspoken singer Morrissey has called for the death of Donald Trump "for the safety of humanity".
The former Smiths singer was talking to German magazine Der Spiegel about his new record Low in High School, when the topic of the US President came up.
"If there was a button here and if you pressed on it, Trump would die dead - would you push it or not?" the interviewer asked the 'Bigmouth Strikes Again' singer.
"I would, for the safety of humanity," Morrissey responded.
"It has nothing to do with my personal opinion of his face or his family, but in the interest of humanity I would push."
He blamed the US media for Mr Trump's elections, saying all publicity for the former reality TV star is good publicity.
"Whether they criticize him or laugh at him, he does not care, he just wants to see his picture and his name. The American media have shot themselves in the leg."
The lead single from his new record, 'Spent the Day in Bed', urges listeners to "stop watching the news because the news contrives to frighten you".
He's recently made headlines for defending accused Hollywood sexual predators Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey.
