Neil Finn and son Liam are going on tour next year, taking their Where's My Room tour around the country.
The ex-Crowded House/Split Enz singer announced the tour on Three's The Project as Thursday's fourth host.
Liam Finn dialled in from Los Angeles to help with the announcement.
"Dad and I have been chipping away for the last two years at this album," he said. "We're going to be doing a tour around New Zealand in small towns and small halls that I can't remember the name of yet, but they will be locked in my heart afterwards.
"I grew up playing in Dad's band for years... we were doing shows together, playing each other's songs and we thought 'wouldn't it be great to play our own songs?'.
"It seemed like the right time."
Finn chimed in, joking that he'd "been trying to crash Liam's world for a long time".
"He's only recently starting appreciating how brilliant I am."
Other musicians will perform alongside the father/son duo, including Connan Mockasin, champion whistler Molly Lewis, John Carroll Kirby, Jimmy Metherell and Eliza-Jane Barnes.
In a statement, Liam Finn said the tour was "about making memories".
"[It's] getting to do what we love, on an intimate level with good friends and family, for the pure joy of it and building a unique experience - hopefully for not just us, but whoever wants to come along."
