MediaWorks is celebrating five wins at the 2017 New Zealand Television Awards, including Best News Coverage, Te Māngai Pāho Best Māori Programme and Best Comedy.
At the awards ceremony on Thursday night, the Newshub team took out Best News Coverage for their coverage of the Kaikōura earthquake in 2016, while Best Presenter of News and Current Affairs was awarded to Mike McRoberts.

"It was great to see everyone come together for the NZ TV Awards again," says MediaWorks chief news officer Hal Crawford. "It's an opportunity to celebrate hard work and success across the industry.
"I'm incredibly proud of the Newshub team, and pleased that our passion and dedication has been recognised tonight."
The Hui received the award for Te Māngai Pāho Best Māori Programme and 7 Days received Best Comedy/Comedy Entertainment Programme.
Mitchell Hawkes picked up Best Director (Multi Camera) for his work on the live broadcast of the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards 2016.
The New Zealand Television Awards event was organised by J&A Productions, with a voting panel reportedly comprised of key industry players and almost 100 judges.
