It may sound like the plot of a sci-fi comedy, but supermodel Chrissy Teigen and Sophia the robot have gone through a full three-act relationship drama in real life.
Sophia has been called the world's most advanced humanoid robot and visited New Zealand last year, before being granted citizenship in Saudi Arabia.
She and the 32-year-old model have been communicating on Twitter, becoming adorable frenemies on a public forum for all the world to see.
First, there was a mockery, as Chrissy made fun of Sophia's make-up.
Then, there was fear as Chrissy appeared to be concerned at Sophia confronting her at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Finally, there was friendship. Although she made a point of saying they should only meet in "well-lit" places and warned her home was "gated", Chrissy appears to be brave enough to finally meet Sophia.
The pair say they're they'll discuss make-up and have lunch together.
While many social media users have expressed joy and amusement at the pair's journey, some are concerned for Chrissy and are warning her against meeting Sophia.
Chrissy and Sophia's fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on their real-life meet-up... and hoping Chrissy survives it.
