The trailer for the latest Kiwi comedy dropped today and if you're feeling not-so-hot about Valentine's Day, this is for you.
Kiwi comediennes Jackie van Beek and Madeleine Sami wrote, directed and starred in The Breaker Upperers, an hilarious new film which will premiere at Austin's SXSW Festival next month.
The movie follows two best friends who run a business breaking up couples for cash, after they were both burned romantically in the past.
Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi is executive producer on the flick, which premieres in New Zealand cinemas on May 3. He's brought with him past movie-making alumni to help produce, including Carthew Neal (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) and Ainsley Gardiner (Boy).
The Breaker Upperers welcomes back Boy star James Rolleston to the big screen, along with a plethora of Kiwi stars including Rose Matafeo, Oscar Kightley, Angella Dravid and Teuila Blakely.
