Billionaire tech entrepreneur Elon Musk says Kanye West is "obviously" the person who inspires him.
During a question and answer session at the United States festival South by Southwest, an interview said everyone was inspired by him and asked who he was inspired by.
He quickly responded: "Well, Kanye West, obviously."
The crowd laughed and applauded at his response, but he was apparently very serious.
It's not the first timeMusk has expressed his admiration for the 'Bound 2' hitmaker. In 2015, he wrote a blurb for the artist's inclusion in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People.
"Kanye's belief in himself and his incredible tenacityhe performed his first single with his jaw wired shutgot him to where he is today. And he fought for his place in the cultural pantheon with a purpose," he wrote.
"In his debut album, over a decade ago, Kanye issued what amounted to a social critique and a call to arms (with a beat): "We rappers is role models: we rap, we don't think." But Kanye does think. Constantly. About everything.
"Now that he's a pop-culture juggernaut, he has the platform to achieve just that. He's not afraid of being judged or ridiculed in the process."
