Vince Staples has sent a message to fans - either raise him US$2 million or "get off my d**k".
The 'Big Fish Theory' artist has launched a GoFundMe page entitled #GTFOMD, which asks the general public to donate money to him so he can retire early.
"We've gotten a lot of complaints about our recent show performances," Staples says in an explainer video.
He offered an apology, and an alternative.
"On GoFundMe.com we would like to give you the option to donate to the cause of $2 million, which will allow me to shut the f**k up forever. No songs, no interviews, no anything," says Staples.
"If not, you can choose to let me do whatever the f**k I want to do, when I want to do it. The choice is yours. Get off of my d**k, or fund my lifestyle. Either way, we appreciate you."
On the page, Staples explains the money will be used to fund the following items:
- "Move to Palmdale" (Los Angeles, California).
- "Buy a Honda"
- "Year supply of soups for the homies locked down"
- "Buy a puppy"
The campaign has currently raised US$1,169.
Some donators have left supportive comments for the artist.
"Hey Vince, I saw you in CO on the Flower/Fish tour and I liked your set," one person wrote.
"The TV cutaways were harsh, but I appreciate you doing something different. Here's $5 to buy a snack or something."
One donator offered the supportive message: "Amazing cause! Keep fighting, King", while another offered to sell their house to contribute US$300,000.
