Hailey Bieber is facing backlash after sharing a clip to social media in which she showcases a look she called, "brownie glazed lips".

Last week, the fashion model and entrepreneur took to TikTok to upload a short clip in which she displayed her favourite new beauty trend - brown lipstick with a layer of clear gloss over the top.

"Ready for all the fall things including brownie glazed lips," she wrote.

The video has racked up over three million views, but proved divisive to many of her followers, with fans calling out the model for not crediting the look to Black and Latina women who have been rocking the combination for years.

"I'm crying because she took a lip combo that Black and Latina women have been wearing since the '90s and named it 'brownie glazed lips' to make it sound cute lol, like if you gonna try to make something trend then [the] least you could do is give credit from where you got the inspo," one follower argued, while another agreed: "So basically the exact same colour combo our tias [aunties] have been using."

"'90s LATINA LIPS, love that you took inspiration from them," a third added, with a fourth weighing in: "My mom, tias and primas [cousins] have been rocking that look since the '90s."

Meanwhile, TikTok user @zzhilton took issue with the star's choice of caption.

"It doesn't hit the right way when you try to pass [off] a brown lip liner as your own idea and call it a 'brownie' lip liner when this has very obviously been created by women of colour, considering how long women of colour had to fight for brands to stop naming darker shades after food," they fumed.

Bieber, 25, has not yet responded to the criticism.
