There's good news for home-buyers across New Zealand, as new figures show real estate listings for March were up 10 percent on the year before.
Data from realestate.co.nz also shows the number of new listings in March jumped higher than February. Spokesperson Vanessa Taylor says usually it's the other way around.
"People come off summer holidays and they're quite to excited to fill their New Year's resolutions, so generally February is a really big month for us."
The main regional centres drove the increase in new listings, with Auckland seeing a rise of just over 20 percent in March.
"March this year paints quite an interesting picture," Ms Taylor says.
"It could well be that after the volatile nature of 2016, potential sellers have taken on board that the market has been relatively flat in the past few months.
"If they've been talking about making a move on the property ladder, whether up, down, or even out of the region, they may have more confidence that their next purchase will be in the context of a more stable price environment," she says.
