A pair of punters from Wellington and Auckland have struck gold in the last Lotto draw before Christmas.
The duo are sharing the first division prize of $1 million, which means they walk away with a very handy $500,000 apiece.
The winning tickets were bought at New World Churton Park in Wellington and Highpoint Temptations Lotto in Auckland.

Powerball was not struck, and has jackpotted to $6 million ahead of the next draw, which is on Wednesday, December 27.
Strike Four also rolled over and will be worth a not-too-shabby $600,000 on Wednesday night.
Lotto is encouraging anyone who bought tickets from the winning stores to check them. It is also reminding punters there will be 200 extra prizes on Triple Dip tickets bought between now and December 30.
