A Christchurch taxi driver has died a day after crashing into a house following a medical event.
Emergency services were called to Staveley St in the suburb of Avonhead around 6pm on Wednesday, Fairfax Media reports.
The driver was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition.
A witness told Fairfax the driver was on his way to work when the care suddenly went backwards, ploughing through a fence and into a neighbouring house.
