Leading travel website Trip Advisor has released the results of its first travellers' choice awards for the airline industry - and it's good news for our national carrier.
The awards honour the best airlines from different regions around the world as well as worldwide winners for different levels of service using a special algorithm.
Emirates won the title of best airline in the world as well as best first-class airline.
Air New Zealand was the fifth most popular airline in the world, and second most popular in the Asia Pacific region behind Singapore Airlines.
Air New Zealand also won the title of best premium economy product in the world.
General Manager Customer Experience Anita Hawthorne says the accolades reflect the airline’s commitment service.
