Rural south Auckland's Waitangi Falls has turned into a raging torrent as the wild weather continues to lash New Zealand.
Footage of the river was posted to Facebook on Wednesday morning by Glenbrook Primary School, which is near the waterfalls.
The video showed the murky brown water hammering down, sweeping debris away and sending spray into the air.
But there was a positive side to the rain.
The school used it as an opportunity to teach its pupils about the devastation flooding causes.
