A 'Queer Quake Mardi Gras' has been organised to greet controversial Destiny Church leader Brian Tamaki when he holds a talk in Christchurch on Monday.
The event has been organised to "show the young minds attending Brian's talk that it is okay to be gay," the Facebook event page says.
It will greet Mr Tamaki at the Haeata Community Campus in Aranui.
Mr Tamaki has had a controversial past and hit headlines late last year for publicly attacking the LGBTQ community, blaming them for New Zealand's earthquakes.
Monday's "big gay party" has been organised by Josie Butler, who famously launched a sex toy at National MP Steven Joyce while he was talking to media at Waitangi in February 2016.
The event has been labelled a family event where all are welcome.
