He has been named a Companion of the NZ Order of Merit (CNZM) for his services to the farming industry.
He told Newshub he was proud of his time as part of Federated Farmers, promoting an improved relationship with the environment.
"So many of my farming colleagues have taken that on board and actually started on a journey that's going to take them a long way forward in terms of the environment," he said.
Mr Rolleston said the development of an app to support North Cantabrians was also a highlight.
"I was really keen for this," he said. "We had people in Scandinavia working overnight to get this app working for us.
"Federated Farmers is now expanding that, so we can use it to help us deal with any adverse events."
