A truckie has uploaded an emotional video asking drivers to "slow the f**k down" after he witnessed a fatal crash.
AJ Quinn was driving near Hinuera, south Waikato, Wednesday morning when a woman lost control of her vehicle, sliding into the path of an oncoming logging truck at around 4:50am. The 24-year-old died at the scene.
Mr Quinn stopped and filmed a short clip soon afterwards, police and emergency services visible in the dim morning light behind him.
"Bit of a shit start to the day," he said, bluntly.
"People aren't awake, they're not f**king listening to what's going on. Unfortunately this is the result."
Though police on Wednesday said the cause of the crash was yet to be determined, Mr Quinn's mind was already settled.
"I don't mean to be gory, I don't mean to be a sick prick - there's two people dead behind me purely because of speed and impatience," he told followers.
"F**k's sake, we're five days out from Christmas and some family's gonna get a shit call this morning. Slow down, slow the f**k down. Drive to the conditions and get home safely."
It comes just two weeks after he described the moment he almost killed a mother and her three children after she tried to overtake his truck when there wasn't enough room.
"The last thing I want to do out here is kill somebody's kids," he said in the December 6 video.
"We all need to get places - for f**k's sake, just take your time."
This year's road toll is well beyond last year's - 363 with 10 days to go, compared to 310 in 2016.
