A woman in her 20s has died just two days before Christmas after jumping from the top of a waterfall in Tasman and failing to resurface.
She had leapt from the top of the Maruia Falls off State Highway 65 on Saturday afternoon, police say, but was not seen after.

The incident occurred at about 3pm, and a search and rescue team located the woman's body about an hour later.
Police are now in the process of notifying the woman's family, and are providing support to those at the scene.
The death will be referred to the coroner, police say.
