The self-proclaimed "First Man of New Zealand" has received an adorable letter from a fan.
The handwritten card, sent by "Sonja and Sonja's mummy", expressed concern at how Mr Gayford was coping with his partner Jacinda Ardern's new role as Prime Minister.
"To Clarke," it read, on green paper adorned with fish stickers.
"How are you? We are very worried about you.
"We hope that you are not too lonely and miserable now that Jacinda is so busy.
"Please stay. We love you."
Mr Gayford described it as the "cutest correspondence [he has] received to date".
"Unless perhaps these guys are psychic, in which case, - where am I going??!!!??!"
