The Prime Minister has hit back after she was questioned about being a working mother and PM, even before the baby is born.
Jacinda Ardern was in Dunedin on Friday for the official opening of the city's historic courthouse following a $20 million refurbishment.
A reporter asked the Prime Minister what the first week of having dual roles being a working mum and a working PM had been like?
"Well, I'm just pregnant, not incapacitated," Ms Ardern responded.
"Like everyone else that's found themselves pregnant before, I'm just keeping on going. It's probably a question for after," she said.
The reaction from New Zealanders about Ms Ardern's pregnancy had been "very warm", she said.
"I don't take that to mean absolutely everyone in New Zealand is happy. I've got work to do to prove that I can fulfill the responsibility that I have and I absolutely intend to do that, and so does this government."
