Cameras have captured the moment a huge storm surge bowled over bystanders in Nelson as a huge storm makes its way across New Zealand.
The group were being interviewed by a 1 NEWS crew while standing on the road in the town of Glenduan, near Nelson, when the wave hit.

The cameraman panned across the scene, showing a wall of water making its way across the road.
Two women were knocked off their feet by its force and one was briefly stuck in debris of some fallen trees.
While the footage may look dramatic nobody was injured and the women quickly left the scene.
