Police have raided a Mongrel Mob pad in Kawerau as part of a crackdown on the distribution of illicit drugs on Tuesday morning.
Police are executing a large number of search warrants across the Bay of Plenty region, including in Whakatāne, Ōpōtiki, Hastings and Gisborne.
Police Commissioner Mike Bush says the raids in the Bay of Plenty are part of a wider operation to target organised crime.
"The public can expect to see a significant police presence in these areas while the warrants are executed," police say.
A Kawerau local says about 50 police cars have descended on the town this morning.
