A police officer is believed to have suffered a medical event colliding into four other vehicles in Dunedin.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash at the corner of York Place and Smith St in central Dunedin at 8:30 am on Wednesday.
A woman was trapped between two cars after the collision but has since been freed. Her baby also has minor injuries, Otago Coastal Area Commander, Inspector Matenga Gray, says.
Police say five vehicles - a police car, a bus and three other cars were involved in the crash.
The officer and the woman are both receiving medical attention at Dunedin Hospital.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the crash.
