Police are investigating after a woman's body was found in Whairepo Lagoon, near Frank Kitts Park in Wellington.
The woman's death is currently being treated as "unexplained" and police are speaking to witnesses.
The body was found just before 11am on Saturday morning.
A local Kaumatua performed a blessing of the lagoon at 4pm and police will soon stand-down from their operations at the site.
