A man has died after drowning at a popular marine reserve north of Auckland.
Police were notified of an incident at Goat Island at 3:40pm on Monday after the man was found unresponsive in the water.
CPR was administered at the scene and he was taken to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition. The man died overnight.
Next of kin are being notified and the death is being referred to the coroner.
