There were delays in south Auckland on Friday after a BMW caught on fire, causing a main road to close.
Footage sent to Newshub from an onlooker shows a car engulfed in flames in Takanini, with black smoke billowing out of it.
The onlooker said the car was close to an on-ramp for State Highway 1.
The video was taken not long after midday on Friday afternoon, with the incident causing the roads to be closed for a short time.
Newshub contacted Police and Fire and Emergency NZ, who both said the incident was now cleared and the road is open again.
It's not known if anyone was injured in the blaze.
