A diver who went missing off Mahia Peninsula on Saturday has been found dead.
Police say they were reported missing around 10:15am, sparking an extensive Coastguard and helicopter search.
The search continued on Sunday morning with assistance from Surf Lifesaving NZ.
"Sadly, the diver was located by a Surf Lifesaving NZ crew at around 10:30am today," a police spokesperson said in a statement.
"Police are working to support the man's family, as well as the man's diving companions."
The death will be referred to the Coroner.
