Alex Gilbert's story is not an average one.
Adopted from a Russian orphanage at two, he had always wanted to find his birth parents. So he used social media to track down them down, flew to Russia and eventually met them.
But it wasn't what he expected. His mother was distant and denied she'd had him. She was just a teen at the time.
This inspired him to set up an online community for anyone in the same boat, and 'I'm Adopted' was born.
A year on, he has a global community of more than eleven thousand followers sharing their adoption stories.
