Yet another New Zealand-born rugby player could be in line for a call-up to the English rugby team after Denny Solomona made a big splash for Sale in England's premier rugby competition.
Solomona, who made his professional debut for the Melbourne Storm back in 2012, scored three tries in the Aviva Premiership on Monday (NZ time) to help the Sale Sharks in their battle to stave off relegation.
The powerful back arrived in the UK on March 8 2014, to play for the London Broncos in the Super League. He then made the switch to play for Castleford, amassing 67 tries and breaking Lesley Vainikolo's 13-year season try-scoring record.
Controversially walking out on his contract with Castleford in December, Solomona switched codes to rugby and under World Rugby's player eligibility laws, would be eligible for England Selection on March 8, 2017, three years after arriving in the country.
His career trajectory has been mirrored by New Zealand-born Ben Te'o who left the NRL in 2014, signing for Irish domestic side Leinster.
Te'o then moved to England to play for Worcester and made his Test debut against Australia in Sydney in June 2016.
Should Solomona earn an England spot, he would join Te'o and fellow New Zealand-born players England captain Dylan Hartley, Mako Vunipola and Teimana Harrison in the squad.
Outside England, there are currently at least eight players in the other Six Nations squads who are New Zealand-born.
